Tiny Metagame
Tiny Metagame was created by: Funke
The Tiny Metagame (TMG for short) is a metagame consisting of level 100 pokemon that are in their lowest stages of evolution. Pokemon that do not evolve are not legal. Also, pokemon that must be, or can be evolved into arn't legal as well.
I.E: Pichu Is Legal, while Chansey Is Illegal. Zangoose Is Illegal, while Lickitongue Is Legal. The metagame is highly offensive, which reflects on D/P's nature of battling as well. Though walls are still needed and perfectly usable.
What I enjoy the most about TMG is the fact that almost every pokemon in TMG is a viable option. Whereas in OU or UU play there are only small pools of 'good' pokemon to choose from. If everyone is playing with OU pokemon, which are generally the strongest and most useful, you don't want to bring weaker, overshadowed pokemon from the UU tiers. But, in TMG the tiers are baised solely on useage (Excluding the Uber Tier). This is because each and every pokemon is useful in it's own way; only a few pokemon in TMG are really not useful, such as caterpie, combee, feebas, magicarp, ect. Even then, someone may find a useful set for those pokemon as well. This variety keeps battles from getting repetitive. In OU, almost every team will contain Blissey, Garchomp, or Bronzong, ect. You see many of the same pokemon, using the same sets, over and over. TMG allows for more creativity and diversity in battling. It was an interesting prospect for me as on smogon people were beginning to like Little Cup more and more. Little Cup is all of the following, with less diversity and creativity because it's only at Level 5. Which makes Eving even more of an obnoxious chore and movesets pretty limited. So I came up with the Tiny Metagame, to break away from the Level 5 Limiter.
I will detail the metagame further if needed, but later.
